I'm a single female trying to fix this without calling my dad, brother, or ex-boyfriend!
My tub (early 1940s) has been draining slowly for months. So three nights ago, I poured in a bottle of foaming Drano. The next morning, I showered--it drained even slower. I took a quick shower and got out. It took about 10 hours to empty.
So that evening I poured in a bottle of Drano gel. (No, I don't learn.) I flushed it with hot water after half an hour. It took many hours to go away. The tub was empty when I went to bed.
When I woke up yesterday, there was an inch or so of water in the tub. Where did that come from??? In the last 30 hours, it goes from empty to that inch or so or water (cloudy, with silt).
I've tried plunging it to no avail.
Should have read this site first--about the enzyme cleaner. There's a bit of cloudy, dirty water in there now. Smells strongly like Drano. Also a silt in the tub.
Have been showering at the gym. :-) Help!
Thanks,

Drano does one thing, TAKE YOUR MONEY.
You need to have the drain cleaned with a drain cable in order to remove the clog.
Advise whoever uses the equipment to clean it of the chemicals used in drain prior to cleaning.
