I have a 22" Scotts push mower with a B&S 6.5hp intek engine. The starter rope broke and I have no clue how to replace it. I have a new rope but not one ounce of knowledge as to what to do with it.
Thanks

Hello cthack27!
You'll need to remove the engine shroud which contains the recoil spool. Turn it over and remove the remainder of the broken cord and wind the spool back up. When it winds up all the way, back it back up until the rope hole in the spool lines up with the one in the housing. Then feed the rope through, tie a knot in the end, and let it rewind. Make sure the handle is tied to the other end of the rope, or it might wind all of it back in.
