I am having a high effiency / modulating furnace installed and it has the option for direct venting of the combustion supply air. It makes sence to me to not draw that air from the house if possible, any advise?

You're already running 1 pipe to the outdoors to exhaust you might as well run 1 more for the intake.

intake pipe adds 2% efficiency to most units
