My dishwasher, which empties into the garbage disposal, often backs up into the kitchen sink when it drains. I cleaned & replaced the trap below the disposal, but it wasn't blocked and replacing it didn't fix the problem. The sink drains just fine, however. Any suggestions?

Sounds more likely that something is plugging the disposal. If you have a high amount of food on the dishes and it is all trying to go through the disposal it could impede the flow of water and cause the backup. Ever tried running the disposal when the dishwasher is emptying? Good luck and post back.
