What's the proper gap between the bottom of an interior door and the flooring? We are building a new house and the interior doors have about a 1 to 1 1/2 inch gap from the bottom of the door to the flooring (tile and carpet). The builder says that is to allow better air flow. I say BS, it looks tacky.

"Better air flow"???? That's a good one. :D
I like ~1/2" or less. Sounds like your builder installed the doors too high.
