We recently purchased a new faucet for the kitchen - after it was installed the faucet when turned on would hesitate then put out the water - and same goes when the water was turned off - hesitates than turns off slowly.

We took one faucet back since a store rep. at Home Depot thought it sounded like a defect on the faucet - we got another kitchen faucet (different type) but the problem still remains. We are now pointing the finger directly at DoItYourselfer's - aka as ME!

What would cause this kind of problem? What have we messed up??

Thanks,

Shercat/Laredog

What type of supply pipes do you have? Galvanized by any chance?
Debris may be getting into the faucets.
Turn the water off, dismantle the faucet, lay a towel over it, and turn the water back on very briefly to flush it out.
Good Luck!
Mike

I got the answer to my own question not too long after I posted this question to the board.

Our new faucet has that rinse hose - apparently we needed to activate or run water through this rinse hose for the rest of the sink to work properly. Once we did this - ran the rinse hose - the slow to turn on and off faucet fixed itself. That bit of info. was missing from the installation guide - arghh! Glad it was a simple fix.

Thanks for this bulletin board and to those who have replied to my post.
