I have caught the edge of wood effect upvc window frames with paint remover and it has made the wood effect layer peel off. Can anyone help with ideas for covering it back up? Can you get replacemetn trim from anywhere? Ive spent ages removing four layers of paint from the window ledge and now have to fix this mishap! http://forum.doityourself.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=84#

If this is a bathroom and single window you could paint all the moulding by cleaning it with TSP or orange cleaner then prime it with 1-2-3 (water base), then put on semigloss latex. If there are multiple windows and you with to make it less noticeable perhaps a woodgrain shelve liner applied over it? or watersand the plastic edge then spot prime the area the covering came off of and color it with something that matches the woodgrain. There are woodgraining techniques with paint you could try. lol......jeff

The quickest and easiest fix would be IMO the woodgrain contact paper. Pre-cut it to size and apply.
