Hi.
I'm thinking of installing a tubular skylight in my living room to brighten the place up. I live in the Pacific NW and my house faces East so I don't get much afternoon sun and miss it.
Any opinions on them? Will it add much light to the room? What about when it is cloudy (much of the time here), will it still work or does it need actual sun shining on it?
Any help/advice would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know of the product you mention, tho' havent installed or have one. We have a full skylight in the kitchen. Know what you mean about PacNW.. Same here.
It sounds like it would give you decent light..certainly more than not having one.
Here is a sight l found that may help you out...

FWIW, they now carry these at Home Depot.

Lowe's and HD both carry the tubular skylites. Yes, they will add quite a bit of lite to your kitchen, even on one of your cloudy days. And they are pretty easy to install, as long as you have access to the attic where it will be located.

We installed three of them and they work great! They bring in a lot of light.

Sounds good to me, if the application applies or can be applied to your home.
Great way to bring in light.
I'd go for it.
