I have a toliet, that periodically, the flush becomes slow. In the past I have solved this problem by using an acid based product in a white one quart container that I purchased at Home Depot. You shut off the fill valve, pull up the flapper, and pour a cup or two of this down the flapper hole and let it set for 1/2 hour. After 1/2 hour, you flush the tiolet several times, and the problem is solved. This product then removes all of the calcium and other deposits from the holes under the rim where the water enters the bowl. When the holes are cleaned out, the water is then free to flow from the tank to the bowl at the proper rate and the toilet flushes normally.
The problem is, I need the product again and Home Depot, Lowes, etc don't carry it any more. Unfortunately, the old bottle is long gone so I don't know the name of it. It came in a white plastic one quart bottle with blue or purple lettering and was specifically made for the condition described above.
Does anyone know the name of this product and where it can be purchased?
Does anyone know of a similar product for the same purpose?
Thanks.

I don't know the specific name of the product you describe, but CLR or Tri-Sodium Phosphate works exactly the same way you describe.

Hello: beaver
The product(s) you're looking for are either Muratic or Phosphoric Acid.
These can be poured down the over flow tube inside the tank. Allowing this de-liming chemical to remain in the rim of the bowl for several hours or overnight, will loosen the hard water and lime deposits.
Upon the next flushing, the deposits will flush out with the water and normal flushing will resume. Heavy deposits may require two or three repeated treatments.
May also need to use a wire end of a coat hanger to gently move around up in those flush holes to further remove loosened depsoits, etc. Not exactly a pleasant task but may help. Once that is completed, flush again to remove lossened deposits, etc.
Visit the local hardware store and inquire about the product(s).
