Where can I get info to get started with spray painting. I bought a new compressor and gun from Sears. User manual and sales people are virtually useless. The manual mentions a viscosity meter (I think it is a drip device that is timed to provide info on paint viscosity). I asked for one where i purchased the compressor and gun but was looked at like I had three heads. The gun and compressor offer a wide range of options but I don't know how to get started. I want to paint some furniture for indoors and would like to get started. My next trip is to the library and local paint supply house. Any tips, tricks or advice would be appreciated.

It's not surprising they didn't know what a viscometer is.
That's the sad part about buying a specialty tool from a mass marketer.
The price may be alright but you are on your own as far as support goes.
I picked up one of these at Harbor Freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=47399) while on vacation in Minneapolis:

You will find that professional autobody painters don't use this tool as auto paint has several components that have to be measured when mixed.
If you are planning to paint with water based paint you need a gun with an internal mix nozzle to get a proper spray pattern.
Also, make sure the gun is thoroughly cleaned when you are finished and occasionally lubricate the stem that runs through the trigger.
