I am working on repairing our 1916 home's double hung windows. I wish to replace the sash cord with sash chain -- preferably something that looks nice. ie not shiny silver. Where is the best place to look for such things?

I Googled "sash chain" and got over 47,000 hits. The first link shows what looks like copper or bronze chain, which seems to be what you are looking for. If you don't want to buy online, any good hardware store should have a wide selection of chain from which to choose. Good luck.
