Should I paint the kitchen ceiling the same color as the walls or a neutral color like white or off white?

i think off white would be ok... so long as all ur ceiling remains the same color throughout. otherwise it might look kinda odd i think~

99% of the ceilings I paint are flat white.

the answer depends on many factors: what color & how dark/light your walls are, how the kitchen is separated from the adjoining rooms, the ceiling height, the overall effect you're wanting, and what you've done in all the other rooms.

could you please provide a little more info?

what about in my case.. my kitchen is like an open kitchen that the ceiling is shared with the living room and dining room. so can i just use the same kind of paint for the ceiling in the kitchen ceiling as well? someone told me that there are different paint for kitchen and bath, but since my kitchen is in a open space... what should i do?

in general, like prowallguy said, 99% of the time, flat "ceiling white" paint is the way to go for ceilings in all rooms.

since the kitchen is in an open space... can i paint the kitchen wall the same as the other walls? or should i get the special kitchen paint?

as long as you're not using flat wall paint, i think you can use all the same all-purpose paint. flat paint is just really hard to clean, so you wouldn't want that behind your stove! so use satin or semi-gloss and you'll be fine. :)
