I have several 4 inch IC rated 12 volt recessed lights. The socket is bad on one of the lights and needs to be replaced. I was told to cut the wires to the old socket and install the new socket using porcelain wire nuts. The wires on the replacment socket are quite short and so the connection will actually be made within the "can" itself. Any problems with this recommendation?
