Hello, just bought myself a new 12" sliding compound miter saw. :D
Only problem is...I have a project now where I need to finish some crown moulding under my fireplace mantle. question is..which is better...to cut the moulding flat on the table, setting at the appropriate miter and bevel...or...having it nested against the fence and table? is there any benefit either way?

I like to cut it standing. I find that it is easier to keep track of what I am doing with it standing. Here is a good site on cutting crown. www.compoundmiter.com
