I had tile installed in my kitchen and now it's no longer manufactured, plus a contractor purchased the last 3,000sq feet that was available. I was going to tile my living area, entrance and halls, but now it looks like I'm going to have to install a wood floor. Thus, what is the best/better engineered wood floor out there? Is engineered, floating floor, the way to go? Or solid wood?
I live in the Houston area, thus high humidity, and it's a concrete slab floor.
At first I was looking at laminated wood floor, but now I'm leaning towards an engineered floating wood floor?
Any suggestions or recommendations?

Kahrs wood is the best engineered wood out there IMO and it has a thick sandable surface.
Solid wood is nice, both will add value. Engineered is more stable than solid.

You would be better off with an engineered, rather then a solid over, concrete.
You still need to check the moisture vapor emissions, of the concrete.
