Hello and thank you,
I am getting ready to install some laminate flooring and would like to know what 1/32" difference in the thickness of planking will do to my installation. I can get 1.95/sf for 8mm or 1.12/sf for 7mm.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Thank you --

it may not make a differense at all to the actual installation of the flooring if it is the same sort of click system. most times an 8mm board is a better wearing board .

If you shop on thickness alone, your going to get burned.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.
check other manufacturing aspects if they have the info available.
what type of finish? thickness of finish?
what kind of backing? thickness of top layer and backing layer?
what kind of core?
I could sell you a 20mm fiberboard lam for 90 cents a sq foot, but you don't want it, trust me :)

A floor I installed for a friend was sold with a similar option in the sizing and price.
The difference was the thickness of the surface and finish.
He chose the thinner one and it showed.
