We just bought a house, and love it, except for the hardware placed on the wood kitchen doors.
The hardware is placed in the middle of the wood doors and we would like to move the hardware appropriately and fill the holes. We have a spare door that matches the other wood doors, but don't know if we can use it to make plugs for the holes.

Any ideas?

If you mean the cabinet doors, drill the opening to an exact size for a dowel rod. 1/4 inch might suit. Buy a dowel rod that size and cut off a piece and glue it in the hole. After the glue sets, trim it flush with the surface and putty any imperfections as needed. This will make the filled hole strong and stable.

Hope this helps.

You should be able to use the "spare" door to make plugs, but you may not be able to make the plugs invisible if the doors are stained.

Another option would be to use something decorative to cover the old holes. I once used some round-head screw hole plugs stained to match the cabinets.
It actually looked pretty neat when it was done. :)
