I will be repainting bedroom (drywall). One wall was painted black, and and I want to paint it white. What preparations are needed before painting the wall white?

1st coat should be a good primer, Porter's BlankIt or Ben Moore's Regal First Coat have good blocking properties.

Then assume probably 2 coats of finish paint, maybe more depending on the quality of paint.
