I was just wondering if there is an easy way to remove popcorn stuff off the ceiling. Every time I paint little peices fall down. It feels powderey too.

every house i've ever lived in has had that kind of ceiling - guess it's popular around my area! i've found that, the older it is and the more times it's been painted, the fewer pieces of it fall down when being painted. my house now has it & it had never been painted, so when we went to paint it for the first time, a fair amount fell down. it is definitely annoying. but i guess it's an easy & fast way for the builders to put up a ceiling & cover mistakes.

i've heard that you can just wet it down with warm water (spray bottle?) and easily scrape it off. it'll be super messy, and you might be left with a less than perfectly smooth ceiling, which you'll have to skim coat over. but once it's all done, you'll never have to deal with that nasty popcorn again!

(you might try reposting your question in the Patching & Plastering forum, though, they'd be the experts on this)
