I have been browsing this forum for the past few weeks as my new home is currently under construction. Once the home is built I plan on upgrading the floors in the kitchen, powder bath and entry way to a laminate or hardwood immediately. (I could do this through the builder but the cost would be nearly 2x as much as contracting it after closing.) The three areas compromise about 400 sqft and they are all above a basement, in other words not on a slab. My question is this - what product would be best to use in these applications. Laminate, Hardwood or Engineered Hardwood? I am assuming that all three areas will be exposed to moisture occasionally due to spills, rain, toilet overflows etc. Suggestions would be appreciated - thanks!

For moisture and durability, nothing beats ceramic tile.
But if it's between those 3 choices, they are all prone to moisture damage, so I will vote 3/4 solid hardwood flooring for the maximum sanding potential, and the help it gives to stabilize the house.
