We have a rotting bottom rail of a wooden casement window. Does anyone have any advice on how a know-nothing-about-this can fix this problem? Does the wood need to be replaced or just repaired? Is it easy to do or should we call in a handyman? Is it something a handyman can do or do we need to call a window specialist?
Thank you!

If the window is old enough that the wood frame has rotted, the window needs to be replaced. Not a handyman -- a licensed contractor. And if one is rotten, the rest probably are too far behind.
