We want to build a simple brick fireplace outside. Is there a specific kind of brick and mortar that we should use? Any other hints would be appreciated. Thanx :)

On the inside of it you should use only the "fire brick" it will be a light tan color. When you lay them or set them you dont use a mortar. There is a so called thinset that you use in them is all. On the outside of them any brick will do and lay them in mortar.
