I have just started demoing about 350 sq of the worst tile set job i've ever seen in my home, and i'm wondering what would be the best way to level off the remaining thin-set. I was thinking floor leveler compound, but have heard mixed things about it's performance. It is two layers a 5/8" plywood underneath, and i really don't want to run a grinder in our fairly new home for 2 days to get it all off. I have purchased 3/8" engineered hardwood with foam underlayment, and have been recommended by many people around here(rochester, ny) to "float it" because of our drastic weather changes and humidity. thanks
