I just made a 2 story extension and want to install laminate on the second floor and the stairway. It's approximately 500sf. and the subfloor is wood. I'm thinking of getting the laminate w/underlayment attached. Do I need to install more underlayment because it's on the second floor as a sound barrier?
I'm not sure on where to start laying the laminates. On one side I have a bathroom w/tile and opposite side there is a track (threshold) for sliding closet doors.

Do not add any more underlay. If you buy the kind with pad attached, you are stuck with it.

I Have Put Down Laminate With The Sound Proofing Attached, And Added A Fibre Board For Extra Warmth And Sound Proofing ( I Love It ) I Would Start In The Bathroom Door, It Is Much Easier Too Undo The Screws On The Closet Track Than Too Fit The Laminate At The Door Way. I Would First Cut The Bottom Of The Door Jam, Slide The First Board Underneath ( Tounge Toward The Tile )
