In the next couple of months I am going to be finishing my basement, and I want to use some leftover wood floor planks I have from my old house. I am going to use them to make a small bar area -- probably where the stools will sit. The rest of the basement floor will be covered with carpet.
Anyway, I would suspect that I will be glueing the planks down to connect to the floor. Do I use the same glue I will be using to glue the planks together, or is there a special (stronger) glue?
Also, I need a recommendation for brand(s) and type(s) of glue.
THANKS!

Before You Even Think Of Installing Hardwood In Your Basement, Do A Moisture Check. Tape Down A 1sq Ft Piece Of Plastic To The Concrete In A Few Different Areas With Duct Tape In 24 Hours Time Check To See If There Is Any Moisture In The Plastic . If There Is Moisture, Forget About Using Hardwood. If There Is No Moisture , Place The Wood In The Room 48hours Before Installing The Wood. Use A Good Waterbased Adhesive That Never Completely Sets So The Wood Can Expand And Contract Every Year. Leave An 18mm Expansion Gap Around The Perimeter Of The Room And Cover It With The Base Board When Complete. Mapie And Bruce Make Good Adhesives. Goodluck
