The concrete wall of my fireplace is a black mess (the part that everyone can see!!). What's the best way to clean it, and can it be painted over, or ????
Incidently, the chimney sweep was here last fall, so it's not a fire danger--just cosmetically UGLY! And I generally only burn those "starter logs" in it, so it's not like I ever have a roaring fire going in there. Thanks!
