I am having vinal siding and new windows put on my house by a contractor. The problem is that they have chosen to go over the old siding. Now my windows are all recessed by 3 1/4".

I am deciding how to deal with this. I actually like the fact that they will all be recessed giving me sills. The question is would you normally drywall around the area, or would you use wood?
