I just had a patio built. Brick steps, brick border and concrete for most of the flat sections.
Should I waterproof either the bricks or the concrete of both? Is is worth it? I am mainly thinking for longevity, I don't really care if it gets wet. :D I live in Los Angeles.

In L.A., I wouldn't waste my time or the sealer, UNLESS you want the sealed look.
It's not like you are concerned about frost or freezing, or excessive rain, or snow, ...

Thanks. I guess I was mostly wondering about the benefits of a sealer/waterproofer, but you pretty much answered my question. I thought it might just add some protection from the elements, but like you said, we don't have too many elements here in LA!
