I am planning to get Birch cabinets installed with Natural finish and bruch nickel door knobs. Can someone tell me if they would look good. I was told that they get a lot of color variations in Birch from light natural color to almost black.

Natural wood varies in color and grain pattern from one piece to another. Properly selected wood will look harmonious Cabinets should be constructed in this manner. Staining a wood its natural color reduces the variations in color. Birch will vary from almost white to deep brown.

If finishing yourself, rub a solution of 50% water and 50% denatured alcohol, then sand prior to topcoat. This will raise and neutralize the grain.
