I'm scouring the web for ideas for my porch roof I'll be building this summer. My house is 'Folk Victorian,' which is a simpler Victorian style. I'm replacing an awful aluminum beast of a roof that was put up in the 60's or 70's.
I'd like my new roof to be a simple shed style, with a gable front & center. The porch is simple & rectangular, off the front of the house.
I'm looking for ideas: pictures, plans, colors, etc. that I can use to help narrow down to a particular style. Is anybody aware of a good resource that could help give me some ideas--a web page, a book, etc.?
I'll also need to draw up framing plans, and any plans I could use as reference would help as well.
Thanks in advance for your help. I'm sure I'll be posting w/ many more questions as my project progresses!

Brian,
Call a couple or three contractors and let them look at it. They will give you their ideas (and their cost to make it happen). It's called a 'free estimate'!! That won't spell out all of the particulars and the details, but it will give you a starting point. They can see it -- I CAN'T!! Go from there.
