I am replacing an old exterior Yale tubular lock with a new Schlage lock. The inside rosette does not have screw holes or plugs. The screws are under this rosette, access is very difficult. How does one access these screws? Will the lock come apart once the screws are loosened? How do you remove this lock short of sawing it off?

If you turn the inside knob, on the narrow part, there should be a small hole that allows access to depress a spring loaded retainer and pull the knob off. It may be a quarter turn, I cannot remember for sure, it has been a long time since I had to work on one of these.
