Our door knob broke on the front door today and the bolt is stuck. The door knob is completely out of the door, but how do we get the bolt out? My husband tried prying it out with a screwdriver, but it won't budge.

Are both knobs off the door? If you cannot move it with a screwdriver in the old lock hole or in the gap of the door, then you need to a small vise grips or other type of plier that enables you to work in the lock hole and take the latch out piece by piece. Good luck.
