Hello Cheese, Sharp Advice, Puey61...
I want to put grease in my transmition. Never had to do it before with a lawntractor, but I noticed it is dry in there. What is the type of grease that needs to be inserted in a gear drive transmition and can I get this grease at a autmotive parts store? Thanks... :)

You know the first thing we will need is a model number of the tractor or transaxle.

I no longer have a model number on the mower because it is worn off. However cheese will know which one I am talking about when I mentione the 8HP rear engine Murray rider. Thanks anyway rogerh. :(

"00" grease should work fine in that little transmission.
