Construction has finally begun on our new home and the foundation was excavated last Thursday. Concrete was poured into the trenches on Friday. My question is : how long does the concrete have to cure in order for work to proceed? The home will have a 3 ft crawl space.

I don't really know how long it takes for the concrete to set but, When they poured my footings they laid the block the next day. I remember him saying something about 12 hours. Hope this helps, like I said I'm no expert, Just posting from my little experince of watching them do mine :)

Concrete takes over 30 days to fully cure if it's kept moist (as it should be), but it's often built on the next day. Your footers shouldn't be a problem. If it were a slab, care would be needed to prevent gouging the concrete.
