Hello.
I have a problem: last week when i played PS2 with a friend on my 28PW6305/01 there suddenly came a noise from the speakers and then the screen went blank, the "power light" in front of the tv was blinking between bright and faded red quite rapidly. We turned the main power of the tv off when we turned it on again it seemed to work fine.
Any idea what can have caused this?
A week later i was watching tv it turned itself off (to standby mode), so now i'm scared  whats is wrong with my tv? is there something wrong with my tv?
I don't know what to do, some people have talked about the tube is broken?
So what i'm wondering is there anything to be concerned about?? i have it unplugged (have been for about half a week) and i don't dare plug it in again for the fear that it will explode or something?
So should i be worried??
Do i have to buy a new tv??
Or can i still use it as normal???
I'm realy confused i know nothing about stuff like this Please Please help!!

What kind of enclosure do you have it in? Or entertainment center?
It sounds like it may be overheating and just needs some air circulating through there. However, it could very well be something worse.
If you have it in an entertainment center, try taking it out and letting it run for a while to see if it does the same thing. If that helps, you may want to consider a different type of entertainment center or possibly removing the backing from your current center.
A CRT TV needs plenty of room to breathe - there's a lot of heat build-up inside there.
Good luck!

The only things standing next to it are two big stereo speakers one on each side with about 5-10 cm to spare from tv to speakers. Although the back of the tv is quite close to tha wall about 10 cm.

pulling out the set and playing it where there is plenty of ventilation is a starting place. But by moving the set, you may temporily fix the problem, by closing a opening circuit. My guess is that the tube is fine, and someting in your power supply needs attention. good luck snuffs :)
