I am going to be making a couple of raised gardens(only about 8" high). I would like the borders to be the cement blocks you can buy at the local home store, but I would like to avoid the price if possible. I've been trying to find information on pouring the edging blocks myself, but I haven't been able to find much information on making the forms or on whether it is price effective and worth the price savings. Any information or links to websites would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

In my experience, it is difficult to beat the price of commercially made blocks. Roughly, you might make two standard concrete blocks from a $6 bag of mix. I don't know how many forms you would have to have to make your time productive if you could pull the forms in one hour. Say 6 forms at a $5 each. Mixing all this is hefty work.
