I have an old house where the foundation sets out farther than the siding plus the foundation has settled. The situation is: there is a space between the siding and foundation ranging from 1" to 2 plus inches and the depth of the siding. Any suggestions to fill this space for facial appearances?

Thank you
Jerry

Depending on the type of siding but let’s say it’s wood for the purpose. I would remove the bottom strip of siding and have someone with an aluminum break,(this is a tool used to custom bend aluminum) have them bend the aluminum to fit the gap nail it to the surface of the wall and replace the siding. I would use vinyl-coated aluminum for maintenance free. This will also help weather proof the gap. Hope this helps. Good Luck :D
