I am refinishing a wood table that nail polish remover spilled on. I sanded and stained, then put on polyurethane sealer. The problem is the surface is now very rough with tiny bumps. Should I put on a paste wax or do something else to finish the job? Thanks.

This sealer is the finish coat of polyurethane? The bumps are likely air bubbles in the finish that dried too fast for the bubbles to escape. This will need to be sanded smooth and another coat applied to remedy the problem. Take care with the ambient temperature and temperature changes when applying polyurethane.
