I have a whirlpool dishwasher. Model GU1200XTKQ0. it has been working intermittantly for the past week. It has now stopped completely. it looks like a power failure no lights or indication of power. Checked the circuit brakers there OK. Purchased on June 1 2002. Parts still under warrenty. However I can't get them under warrenty. They must be installed by a "qualified repairman". Unable to find a diagnostic chart to at least check if power is getting to the electronics module. Is there a diagnostics manual somewhere to see if it is worth fixing myself.

Kindly help us help you.

Hello rondietz54.

Dishwasher has to be "installed" by a "qualified repairman"???
Or does that mean the "parts" have to be installed by a qualified repairman? Confused.... kindly clarify.

Parts will not be sold nor obtained under a warranty. Unless installed by the service person and done so under the warranty.

Kindly clarify your statement...
"However I can't get them under warrenty"
The parts or the service repair person....????

Help and Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for problem possibilities, solving methods, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, downloadable repair manuals, etc which may be available online.

Search the manufacturers web site for a downloadable version of the owners or service manual. The file will be a pdf file opened with Adobe, which also needs to be downloaded first but worth having once obtained.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the
possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers.

Appliance part stores and dealers are listed in the phone book. May find some help on the pages listed at the top of this page in the banner topics.

Check back on your question several more times. Other members posting replies in this forum topic may offer you additional advice, ideas, suggestions, test and or repair methods.

It meant that they would not give me any parts for free so I could install them. Everything would have to be done by a certified technician. It doesn't matter anyway. I open the thing up, and assuming it was electrical, because no LED's were on, I looked at the wiring. I found it instantly. It was a crap wiring job by the people who installed it. The hot wire was was nearly out of the wire nut. The wire nut itself was deformed inside. It was amazing that it ever ran. I rewired it with new wire nut, cleaning off the house wire contacts and used brand new much better wire nuts. Now it runs fine. I was never able to get to completely level up though. I didn't check how level it was before anyway.
