I am trying to put acrylic coating on a patio, but I have water seapage from a set of brick steps into the patio. I know if I put the coating down it will be pushed out by the water the next time it rains. I've tried using acrylic seal on the steps to prevent the seapage, but that didn't work. Any ideas?

What kind of water pushes an acrylic painted finish, is this some type of acid rain water?
