Hello....man i love this forum. Have learned many things just reading the posts and replys. Had a Maytag Neptune...that had the trouble with the control board (like everyone else) And members here guided me through the repair. Thanks.
Now I've inherited an Amana Comercial Quality Super Capacity Plus Washer( boy thats a mouthful) Model # LWA80AW It works great agitates spins.....pumps water just fine. But it has a water leak, it has a stainless tub...so don't think its the tub ? The water is coming from where the transmission shaft goes through the tub. My guess is theres some kind of seal that is leaking..? Is that the first place i should start with? I'm quite handy working on other brands of appliances...just no experice with Amana. Would this be a tedious repair? Also Can't seem to get the agitator off the shaft......should it just pop off like some other brands? Would appreciate any help.....and input thanks,
Al

Hi Bravo,
I know the model LW8303 had a fault with the tub seal and tub bearings going out job would cost roughly 250.00
I would not do it again, Dont like them.
as for as the agitator goes the top of the agitator should have a decorative cover and under it should be a screw or nut, unless that one has a set screw in the agitator at the bottom like the older maytags had.
hope that helps
