After I flush my toilet, the water sprays out by top of the fill tube and runs down the outside of my tank onto the floor. It appears the gasket on the fill tube is bad, but it's all one unit. What are the proper steps to replace the fill tube so that I don't create a bigger headache for myself? Thanks.

Shut off water at the shutoff at wall.

Remove water line from both the shutoff and the toilet fill valve.

Remove nut at base of fill valve on the underside of the tank where water line tied to.

Remove fill valve and replace with a Fluidmaster 400A toilet fill valve.

Make sure you use the small black tube that comes with the fill valve and attach it to both the fill valve and the overflow tube in the center of tank.

Use new nut for installing fill valve that comes with it to properly secure fill valve to toilet.

Buy a new flexible stainless steel supply toilet water line, they come in 6", 9", 12", and 20" dimensions. Use what is in close proximity to what you have.

A small amount of plumber's grease on the fine threads of those supply lines allows for easier removal of lines down the road.
