Would like your advice/opinions/experiences regarding those fancy telescoping/pop-up vent hoods. They look real cool but how do they really perform? Thanks in advance!

The only ones my company ever got calls on were GE and a few Jenn air's but they worked fine only a few switches went out and an occasional motor. but nothing to bad.
