What's the preferred method for putting up metal corner bead, nail or screws? What length for 1/2" drywall into wood 2 x 4 stud?

I like nailing it up. Nail every 6 to 8 inches. I like using 1 5/8" nails. probably pretty hard to find except from a drywall supply house. There is also tape on corner bead which is really good. You put mud on the corner then push the bead into it and mash the paper edges like tape.

Use nails. Also use the small holes on the corner bead, they are space in pairs about 2 inches apart and each pair about 10 -12 inches.

If using steel, you can also use a corner bead crimper, which crimps the bead onto the wall.
