I have a whirlpool top load washer with a problem. The cold water (only cold) continues to run throughout the entire cycle. I have to shut it off at the valve to make it stop. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi JenCarl,
Sounds like a faulty water inlet valve.
A quick and easy way to check would be to:
turn the water back on at the faucet ,start the washer, then let it run a couple of minutes then just unplug the washer.
If the water continues to flow you have a faulty water inlet valve..
sht off the faucets and keep washer unpluged and replace the water valve.
