I'm getting ready to paint the outside stucco walls of my house. Will pressure washing be sufficient or do I need to prime as well? Secondly, there are small gaps (<1/2") between the foundation slab and patio slab - should these be caulked? And lastly, one wall in particular takes a beating from the sun - I know this is a contentious topic, but I'll ask anyway: any brands not to use or brands to use? I want it to last...
Thanks for any input!

I would pressure wash the house to clean and remove any mildew etc. Then prime and paint. I use Loxon Masonry primer by Sherwin Williams and Loxon masonry Conditioner. As for the paint I use SW as well. But their are alot of other choices that are good as well.

I would caulk these, but you might want to look into a concrete crack type caulk.

I prefer Ben Moore for exterior paint, but like PB said, there are many good ones out there, just don't believe everything you read in Consumer Reports.
