I am restoring my kitchen cabinets rather than replacing them. Rather than a prefab look I like the custom look of these cabinets but unfortunately previous owners have gone mental painting over everything including the hinges. I was planning on replacing all of the hinges but these ones fit the cabinets just right. Is there a good product for removing old layers of paint on hinges? Is there a solvent I can just plop them in that would soften the paint enough that they'd clean up?

Are they brass or stainless? If its latex paint, and not too old, you can boil them in a pot and it will come off faily easily.

Looks to me like it's oil base some latex

Try soaking in lacquer thinner. Use gloves. Or use a heavy bodied paint stripper and a wire brush.
