Help! I bought an older Regency scanner at a garage sale, and have no idea of how to program it. This is the type you use to listen to police, fire, etc. It is a Regency D310, probably early 80's vintage.
Does anyone know anything about these that could help me?
Thanks in advance for any help:)

I don't know anything about it personally, but you can buy an owner's manual here:

Most scanners from that era were programmed as follows;
1. Set to manual mode by pushing the manual button
2. hit the 1 button then manual again to get to channel one
3. hit the program button
4. enter the frequency you want to use for channel 1
5. hit the enter button, on some you hit the program button again and they would then move to channel 2 so you can program it. When your finished hit program or scan usually.

A quick web search will find a list of freq's for your area.

Keep in mind that depending on your area, this scanner may be completey useless for monitoring Police and/or Fire as most of these agencies are switching to digital systems, which requires an entirely different (and much more expensive) scanner.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I have sort-of figured it out, and have been able to program my local frequencies. I will order the manual as well.
