I plan on putting 2 way mirrors on the inside of my basement windows, at least I believe the proper term is "2 way mirror". The mirrors that you can see threw one way, but the other side is the mirror. Maybe its a "one way mirror". In any case the logic is to get the most light in the besement which is used as a living area. I cant think of a better way to let light in, be able to see outside, and have privacy at the same time. So I'm looking for a place that will sell it, cut to size, or at least get a general price range for this type of item.

Thanks.

Here is a brief rundown on how one-way mirrors work and why it may not serve your purpose.

Bob, go to the web site that chfite posted above. The lighting is the key to how effective the mirror will be. If someone comes up close to the mirror, they will be able to look in. The cost is about $16.00 per sq. ft.

Well I plan to have the mirror a few inches behind the window glass, so you cant get too close to the mirror. I know if you put your eyes right up to the mirror, you can see through it. I plan to draw shades at night when the lights on insed and its dark outside. Besides, I doubt someone will try to hard to look through, becasue for all they know I could be standing right there staring at them. $16 a foot seem decent enough, and im checking the site out in a minute, thanks for the help

Oh nice. You know what chain store sells it? Or should I just look for some mirror buisness in the yellow pages?

It's not a chain store item......any local glass & mirror shop will have it or order it for you.

I got the two way effect by using a plastic film, using two applications of silver colored tint. Its applied with water.
