I have a Bungalow style home with a finished attic. I am in the process of finishing the front portion of the attic as a walk in closet. I have the knee walls already up. My father in law brought to my attention a possible problem as there is no attic ventilation on either sides of the knee walls. He was suggesting having a roofer come over and install "Ridge vents" I believe that'a what they call them. Where they cut at the peak of the roof and install a cap. This was an additional cost I had not anticipated on this project. Is there any other ways of providing ventalation to the attic. Thanks for all your help.

I don't want to install Gable vent's because they won't be visually appealing especially in the front of the house. We can install soffit vent possibly w/ no problem I think. There is a existing attic fan but I was going to be finishing the ceiling in this area and was going to be using the fan to vent/circulate the upstairs bedroom, attic and closet. This is where the problem lies. I will ask around, but it seems that ridge venting is my only other option. Thanks for all your help.
